We have been having a lot of fun with geometry this week! The students are having great discussions about the attributes of each particular shape. For example, is a square a rhombus? Why or why not? They also had to come up with a generalization for a group of shapes. What is the same about ALL of them?
The students must get the multiplication facts memorized by the end of May.
The third graders read a story about Philip and the Ethiopian and how Philip was a missionary because he taught the man about God.
We learned about the business of agriculture. Renewable and nonrenewable resources were introduced. More on that next week!
Story elements have been the focus this week. We read several stories to determine how the characters or setting affects the story.
We have been hard at work finalizing a literary essay. The focus has been on finding evidence in the story to support their claim about the character they chose.
The students had a great time working with magnets and learned that magnets are an invisible force.
