We have been learning about gathering data and showing it on line plots and bar graphs. The students did a fun activity pulling colored cubes out of a bag, tallying the date, then they showed the data on a bar graph.
The students must get the multiplication facts memorized by the end of May.
The third graders learned about the first black priest in America, Augustus Tolton. He was very determined and filled with God’s grace to overcome the barriers that faced him.
We are hard at work “producing” iMovies on the iPads to show what has been learned about renewable and nonrenewable resources. Once finished they will be uploaded to SeeSaw so you can see them.
Story elements has been the focus this week. We read several stories to determine how the characters or setting affects the story.
We have been hard at work finalizing a literary essay. The focus has been on finding evidence in the story to support their claim about the character they chose.
The students are learning about physical changes to matter. We discussed mixtures and learned that they can be easily separated. Ask your child how we got the tiny iron fillings out of the mixture of sand, coins, and marbles.
