STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Each week we will have a student in the spotlight. That student will make a poster to tell about him/herself. The poster may include such information as hobbies, family members, vacations, friends, and favorite things. He/she can decorate this poster using photographs, drawings, etc. Many kids in the past have included a display of trophies, ribbons, stuffed animals, etc. .. Be creative and enjoy!
Week of October 8 - Antonio
Week of October 15 - Khloie
We finished working on number lines. They were able to really analyze them and answer some tricky questions!
The students read a poem about Onomatopoeia. They then chose one Onomatopoeia word to do a special art project. I think this should be a spelling word for Ms Shaft on next week’s test!
We started a new unit in science this week. The students will be learning the five animal vertebrate groups. There are also going to be several passages in our reading books about animals next week!
The students have been learning that people first learn to love and care for others in their family first. They found out the term for this is the Domestic Church. We also read about St. Martin of tours and how he showed kindness to a beggar.
Please talk with your child about a few different events in their life that they could write about in a narrative. The narrative can only be about ONE MOMENT in time, not an entire day or entire vacation. The more ideas they have the easier it will be to write several narratives.
The students will be going on our own Oregon Trail on Wednesday, October 10th (weather permitting).
Please make sure the permission slip is returned by Tuesday at the latest. There is no cost so all it needs is to be signed.
