STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Each week we will have a student in the spotlight. That student will make a poster to tell about him/herself. The poster may include such information as hobbies, family members, vacations, friends, and favorite things. He/she can decorate this poster using photographs, drawings, etc. Many kids in the past have included a display of trophies, ribbons, stuffed animals, etc. .. Be creative and enjoy!
Week of November 12 – Camden Lovett
Week of November 19 – Zach Griffin
We have been working on rounding to the nearest 10 and 100. Then we used this skill to estimate sums. Next week we will estimate differences.
The students read a myth about how the birds got feathers. This was a nice introduction to that genre.
The students took notes as we watched a little video about centipedes. Next week we will do the same for millipedes and use the information to compare the two. The children did a great job taking notes!
The students completed some review quizzes of the entire unit that we just completed. They sure have learned a lot!
We are hard at work writing skits about Jamestown. The students are in small groups writing the scripts which must include up to 3 facts they have learned. After rehearsing we will video each group’s skit and post on Seesaw. This has been a good activity to not only show what was learned, but also how to work together.
