Bell Ringer Journal
Students will receive 5-7 minutes at the beginning of class to complete their bell ringer journal. It is imperative that students are in class on time to be able to utilize the entire 5-7 minutes for this assignment. The journal will be due every Monday.
We will begin a unit on leadership. There will be no assignments in mindfulness this week.
This week students will do the following:
- Record in their writers' notebooks what topics and sub-topics seem to be emerging about their critical issue based on their initial reading and research
- Create a table in their writers' notebooks (modeled after the table provided) after they sort their information into categories and sub-categories
- Cut up their sources, putting all their PRO info together and all their CON info together, then sort into small categories and sub-categories
- Determine a central idea to focus the drafting of their essay. This central idea will point to both similarities and differences.
There will be no homework in grammar this week. Students will continue working on a special project in class.
