Some changes this week were that we had Mass on Thursday instead of Friday. The third graders did an awesome God and it was beautiful to see the church decorated with flowers all around it for Easter.
Math: FRACTIONS! The students have been having a hard time grasping the concept of equivalent fractions. We have been using charts and number lines to help us. We have basically stayed on this concept all week. Today we are moving on to comparing fractions.
Science: We are learning about natural disasters. So don't be alarmed that the students might be going home wanting to watch videos on tsunami's. We are also starting a tomato sphere with the 5th grade class today. This should be very interesting!
Reading: We are finishing up our reading partnerships.
By the way -->Unfortunately, the movie Wonder got postponed until November.
Religion: We are working in Chapter 9.
Social Studies: We are working in Chapter 6. I will send home the study guide next week. Look out for it.
Writing: There will be a quiz on writing structure. It will look exactly like the notes they took in their writing notebook. Please have them review this when they bring their notebook home.
English: There was no dol this week due to star testing.
Spelling: Week 34 next week.
We will be starting ACT ASPIRE next week. We have talked about the level of seriousness we need to have about testing. Please talk to your fourth grader about having a positive mindset and putting their best foot forward. Please send your fourth grader to school with a complete breakfast during the next three weeks. :)
Have a GREAT WEEKEND.
