STUDENT OF THE WEEK
Each week we will have a student in the spotlight. That student will make a poster to tell about him/herself. The poster may include such information as hobbies, family members, vacations, friends, and favorite things. He/she can decorate this poster using photographs, drawings, etc. Many kids in the past have included a display of trophies, ribbons, stuffed animals, etc. .. Be creative and enjoy!
Week of November 20 – Rachel
Week of November 27 - Jacoby
We began working on finding the value for “n” this week. The students also learned that an equal sign (=) simply means the same value on both sides. You CAN write 5 = 2 + 3!
The students have been reading a nonfiction chapter book about little known facts about the “Mayflower Pilgrims.” Your child has some homework on Thanksgiving Day at dinner! They are to share two interesting facts about what the Pilgrims did and did not have at their meal.
The third graders will be leading the Thanksgiving Mass next Wednesday, November 22nd. If your child has a reading part PLEASE practice with them.
The students will use mentor texts to help them with the format of writing opinion pieces.
The students are working on short skits utilizing facts learned in class. If you have anything that we could borrow for costumes that would be great! And cloaks, capes, tams, long socks, Native American type of clothes…
The students are learning about animal life cycles. We discussed how mammals and other animals can have very different types of life cycles.
