St. John Vianney Catholic School
January 4, 2019
It was good to be back with our school family! There were lots of hugs and “I missed my friends”!
We continued our Christmas celebration as we are learning that Christmas lasts 12 days:) The children asked why I still had the tree up, which started a great discussion.
We worked on /T/ and /F/ this week, started our January vocabulary books, and worked on some January sight word books as well!
When we came back we found a new Morning Task: Addition using our dot counting cubes. We continue to work on the concepts of “before and after as we look at number sequences.
Our New Year’s Resolution as a class is to keep our hallway looking orderly. We know we are smart cookies and are capable of doing this, even in Kindergarten. We make sure our backpacks our zipped and our boots/shoes have their toes pointing towards the wall. If you notice, the extra dress code items that have been in the hallway for you to go through have been put away. If you would like to go through them, please ask.
Please label all of your child’s winter clothes. We have many of the same coats and snow pants. Thank you!
Lunch orders need to be placed by Friday afternoon. Thank you!
The Kindergarten and Ages and Stages groups are combining forces this year to put together a Lego themed basket. Thank you to Carson and family for sending in another donation for our basket.
Lost: A tan travel pillow - Please check your child’s power down items to see if it traveled home with them yesterday:) Thank you!
Looking Ahead - There will be NO SCHOOL on Monday, January 21 as it is Martin Luther King Day as well as a Teacher Record Day...
