Five School Days in a row has us giddy in Kindergarten! We continue to move forward and are looking forward to a wonderful month of March of learning, prayer, and fun with our Kindergarten Family!
We finished off February with a Unit on Dental Health. We did a little activity to talk about things that make our teeth “happy” (fruit, veggies, milk, toothpaste) and things that make our teeth “sad” (candy, sugar drinks, etc.). We also did a little experiment using eggs sitting in various drinks (water, gatorade, pop, chocolate milk). We saw how all but the water left stains on our teeth and talked about how important it is to brush our teeth each day. I requested, and received, a dental care package for each child, compliments of Colgate.
We started two new Morning Tasks this week, both utilizing stamping. One is a revisit of our Weather Predicting sheets; the other is to practice our word families. In honor of Dr. Suess’ Birthday, we started with our “at” words.
We know that Jesus Shares God’s love and that we are called to share that love with others.
We will be attending Mass next Wednesday as it is Ash Wednesday and the start of the Lenten Season. We will be preparing the class for this extra special (and slightly different) Mass.
Please let me know if you need a replacement Read and Grow “part” So far, we have sent home a paper plate for a “face” as well as a shirt and some pants. Thank you for reading with your child and documenting the books on the back of their Read and Grow Person.
Scholastic Book Orders were sent home today. These are due back Monday, March 4.
