We have had a busy week! We worked on skills checks this week. I tell the children that I need to know what I still need to teach themJ We are looking at maps in our Informational Reading Big Book, learned that a Table of Contents is like a map for books, drew and labeled pictures of what we see in the night sky, finished our March Vocabulary Books, worked on an emergent book about Flowers, and worked on some sequencing activities.
I am stressing to the children the need to S-L-O-W down as they work and to pay attention to what the task is asking of them. With sequencing, my suggestion is to cut out the parts, set them out and double check our work, and THEN glueJ We completed a Math puzzle last week with the same process. It is so hard for us to be patient and wait to get out that glue, but we are working on our patienceJ
We continue to work on our counting and also stamping and reading our “ug” words!
We will be having an Easter Egg Hunt on Thursday, April 13th. What we are asking is for families to help us out with plastic eggs and candy…..We can also use helping hands to help us stuff the eggs….If you would like to get some service hours in by helping us, please let me know!
There is an opportunity for Spring Pictures on Tuesday, March 28th. If your child is participating, they may dress up for the pictures, but will need to change back into dress code afterwards. A form was sent home in today’s folder.
Our school dismissal time will change back to 3:05 on Monday, March 27th…..
Spring Break will be April 3-7…..
There will be NO SCHOOL Good Friday, April 14th, nor on Monday, April 17th.
We are planning a “Muffins With Mom” event for May 12th….Save the date! More information will come home soon! We will be joining the Ages and Stages class for this event! We are excited to start a new tradition!
