We continue to “Grow Our Smart Brains” in Kindergarten! It has been a wonderful thing to see everyone grow and blossom! They are proud of all they accomplish and know that they can, indeed, do hard things!
We continue to work on reading our CVC words (this week the “ap” family), getting our sight words down, and writing the sounds we hear when we write. Many of us are using the Word Wall as well as our Special Word Card Boxes to help us as we write.
All of the skip counting practice is coming in handy now as we count our Base Ten Counters to count during Task Time. It is one thing to count by tens, but a bit more challenging when you are asked to count by tens using the counters. You must slow down and apply your knowledge:) We do use our 100 Chart to double check our answer and to help us write our numbers correctly (30, instead of 03).
Our Read and Grow “hands and feet” have been sent home. We look forward to seeing these come back by the end of May.
