It was another busy week in Kindergarten. We added to our Book Stacking bags this week and are working on our reading stamina. We looked at some poems in our big books and looked at titles, words, letters, counted the number of words in various lines of the poems - These are skills that will strengthen our reading and writing skills. During our read-aloud-time after lunch, we are reading a chapter book together. We are predicting, using chapter titles to give us clues, etc.
In Religion we are talking about how God created US and made us unique and special!
In Math we continue to focus on number sense (1-5). We have wrapped up Unit 1 and will begin our 2nd Unit next week, which will focus on comparing and ordering numbers (1-5).
Please help your child with letter recognition, especially lower-case letters. We have been working on tasks in which we pair/match upper and lower case.
On Wednesday, October 10 we will travel as a basement family to Courtland Center to visit the Sloan Dinosaur display. The cost is 4.50 for students and 5.50 for adults. This includes admission and bus fare. A permission slip is included in today’s folder. We will leave school at 9:15 and return right before 11:00.
Looking WAY ahead: We will celebrate Halloween as a class the morning of October 31st. More details to follow!
Have a great weekend! We will see you on Monday!
