We had yet another busy and fun week in Kindergarten.
We had a great time on our field trip on Wednesday. We had a “guide” who led us on a tour and got us to think and investigate. The class did a great job listening and participating. They did a great job!
We continue to work on ordering and comparing numbers 0-5. We are working with the terms “more (than), fewer (than), and same as.
We met Miss A this week in class. These phonics activities will help your child as we work through our Reading Workshop units. We are also working on our October vocabulary books.
FYI - The Special Person Day for later this month is for grades 1-8...We will be having our own celebration in November. Thank you!
Book Orders are due back on Monday.
A letter about our Halloween celebration is in today’s folder. We are planning on joining grades 1-4 for a parade, games, and a snack. We are asking for a donation of 3.00 to cover the cost of prizes and snack. If you would like to donate prizes in addition to this, you are more than welcome! The children are invited to come to school in costume:)
We met Mr. Noisy Nose this week. We worked together to introduce the phonics page we will do with each consonant. I have included some handwriting pages to practice Nn. If your child returns these on Monday they will receive 3 Kindness gems. If they return them after Monday, they will receive 1. They LOVE these little reminders of smart decisions and hard work!
We are working on the print concepts of letters vs. words and started a Fall emergent book that we will add to our Book Stacking Bags. We “shopped” for more books to use during our Book Stacking “whisper reading” portion of our morning.
We continue to work on the concept of time, in particular yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Enjoy your weekend!
