We continue to practice reading our Word Family words. This week we started to mix them up with a different ending each day. This has been a good review. Some children are even writing them out or adding more to their list! We are Smart Cookies in Kindergarten.
Have you seen our “Base Ten Peeps” hanging around the front of the room? These help us with a great visual that helps us count and helps give us a beginning understanding of place value.
Next week, we will create one more month-themed vocabulary page as we work on June/July words:)
Starting Monday, we will meeting in the Gym every morning just like the rest of the school. There will be a spot for Kindergarten to meet. Please send your child to the Gym with their backpacks, coats, etc. We will follow the process the older classes do (Prayer, pledge, etc.) and then will travel downstairs to hang up our own coats/backpacks and continue on with our morning.
We will be visiting McFarlen Village on Monday at 11:45. We will enjoy lunch with the residents as well as preparing some songs to entertain the ladies:) We will return around 1:15. Permission slips were sent home and are due back by Monday morning, May 20. There will be no cost for this trip. Thank you to Zeyna’s Mom for helping us arrange this very wonderful experience for our children! PERMISSION SLIPS ARE DUE MONDAY MORNING! Thank you to those who have returned them:)
We have sent home your child’s part for our “Farewell Poem”. Please help them learn their portion of this special part of our program.
