St. John Vianney Catholic School
April 13, 2017
This week we worked on /H/ and met Mr. Horrible Hair. We continue to work on our vocabulary as we started our April/May vocabulary books. Some of our March emergent readers were sent home this week. These are great books for your child to share with you or read independently. We continue to “shop” for reading books for our “book stacking” time and are working hard to stretch out our sounds. We also will be working more on Main Idea next week. We are working hard!
We spent this week back working on writing our numbers 1-20 (30 for some). This is being done without a number chart. We will work first on getting the numbers down, then spacing, then “perfecting our craft” (making sure we are forming these correctly).
These next two weeks we will be celebrating Jesus and the Resurrection! We talked this week about how much Jesus loves us and that He did some very difficult things because of His Love for us. We joined our school family for a very special prayer service, a Seder Meal, and enjoyed a fun Easter Egg Hunt. Next week we will complete some papers from our Religion Books about Easter and will work on some Easter Art.
Speaking of the Easter Egg Hunt - thank you to all who brought in eggs and candy to help us celebrate! You are all so kind and are helping to create special memories for your children! Thank you to Vivian’s mom for coming in to help us stuff eggs and to Jayden and Sierra’s mom for coming in on Thursday to help us as we hunted for eggs with our neighbors down the hall.
There will be NO SCHOOL Tomorrow, April 14th, nor on Monday, April 17th.
We are planning a “Muffins With Mom” event for May 12t from 8:30 until 10:00. Save the date! Your child may invite 1 special lady in their life for this event.
