St. John Vianney Catholic School
May 24, 2019
We have been spending time reviewing various skills. We have focused on adding and subtracting that involves regrouping.
The students must get the multiplication facts memorized by the end of May.
The third graders learned about the Marks of the Church. They also read the scripture story of when Jesus chose Peter to be the leader of the Church.
The students learned about manufacturing this week. They also heard a true story of their teacher’s experience working in a factory during college!
We are planning our Mall Math field trip that correlates social studies and math. Please read the packet of information that went home carefully.
Greek mythology has been the topic this week. The students seem to enjoy reading about the gods and goddesses. They have learned quite a bit about this genre of literature!
We have been hard at work finalizing a literary essay. The focus has been on finding evidence in the story to support their claim about the character they chose.
The students began learning about the water cycle and how it relates to weather. We made our own little water cycle after watching a video on Generation Genius.
