Please remember to have your child study the list that comes home on Mondays. They need to make corrections on their Practice Test, have it signed and returned on Thursday.
We have been working on the meaning of multiplication. They know that the numbers you multiply are called factors. They also know that you must have equal groups in order to multiply.
The students are currently reading a Christmas story, Mrs. Claus Doesn’t Climb Telephone Poles. We are focusing on analyzing the characters and how their actions affect the events. The students are doing a great job learning about dialogue and dialogue tags!
Our student scientists are investigation gravity. We learned that gravity is actually a pulling downward force. Most people think of gravity as “what holds everything down” but that is not accurate…
The students have been learning about Advent. The word comes from the Latin word adventus which means “coming.” We also learned that Advent is the beginning of the Church calendar.
We have been busy writing persuasive essays. They are learning how to write reasons that are backed up with evidence. Each of these has transition words to help.
The students are learning about Ben Franklin. There will be a Tuesday homework assignment next Tuesday in relation to this historical figure.
