The 7th & 8th grade boys' football team recently played an exciting "under the lights" game up in Bay City. Playing during a beautiful fall evening, the Vikings defeated the All Saints Cougars by a score of 39-13. A spirited following of family and friends made the drive to stadium, cheering loudly for the many outstanding plays made by the boys!
On Wednesday, Sept. 18, the SJV middle school attended Mass at the new Powers H.S.! To make the event even more special, the students walked to the Powers' campus escorted by Kettering University security and students (who were former SJV students, as well!) While celebrating the Mass, almost half of the SJV students joined the Powers choir to lead the congregation in song! We hope to continue the partnership between Powers, Kettering, and SJV in the coming months!
Students from St. John Vianney danced with the El Ballet Folklorico Estudiantil during the Fiesta Mexicana held at Our Lady of Guadalupe at the end of August. Pictured above are the students wearing the traditional costume for the dance. Please note: SJV students interested in dancing with the group are encouraged to contact Mrs. Vargas, who is an SJV parent & a member of the Our Lady of Guadalupe parish. More information will be available soon as to when the new program begins, along with the cost.
