We want to welcome our newest member to SJV's Third Grade - Yolanda!
We are so glad you are part of our family.
Please make sure your child has snowpants, boots, hat, and gloves each day for recess. We go out each day unless the weather does not permit.
We have been working on estimating to the nearest 10 and hundred to add and subtract 3 digit numbers.
Families will have to work with their child to help them memorize the multiplication facts. This is a CRITICAL skill.
The students read a nonfiction book about the Underground Railroad. They learned some interesting facts about the secret signals used and some of the conductors. Ask your child to explain what Abe Lincoln was talking about when he said, “Four score and seven years ago.”
The students observed data about fruit flies to find a pattern in the traits of offspring and their parents.
We have been learning about our nation’s capital, Washington, DC. They discovered what was the first building built.
The 3rd graders did a fabulous job leading our Mass today! They practiced so hard.
We have finished with the lower case letters and are well on our way to learning the capital letters.
